Family and Discovery Canyoning in the Vercors
Welcome to the southern Massif du Vercors for a refreshing adventure in the heart of the Diois region. The Canyon de la Comane is undoubtedly the region's gem for an introduction to the joys of whitewater. Located just a few minutes from the town of Die, this course offers a wild natural setting where limestone meets crystal-clear water. It's the perfect activity for a first canyoning experience, combining safety, fun and geological discovery.
An ideal introduction for everyone
This river is ideal for beginners and families. Unlike the more technical canyons of northern Isère, the Comane offers gentle progression. You don't need to be an expert climber or Olympic swimmer; all you need is motivation and the desire to have fun. The generous sunshine of the Drôme region makes the water warmer, transforming this half-day trip into a truly enjoyable aquatic excursion at the foot of the Vercors cliffs.
A 100% natural playground
La Comane is renowned for its playful character. Here, nature has created a veritable mineral aqualand: slides polished by time, pools of pure water for swimming and small jumps for jumping. Far from the crowds of major tourist resorts, you'll enjoy a pristine environment, surrounded by forests and rock faces, for a total immersion in the wild nature of the Diois.
.The experience
Obstacles & Sensations
The Comane Canyon offers a succession of varied pleasures. Natural slides are the stars of this route: glide down the smooth rock to land in emerald-green natural pools. The route also features several jumps (up to 5 meters), perfect for getting your adrenaline pumping in complete safety.
Important note: This canyon is accessible to everyone as all obstacles can be bypassed. If a jump seems daunting, you can descend calmly on foot or by rappelling. The more adventurous can repeat the jumps as many times as they like, while those who prefer a more cautious approach can enjoy the aquatic adventure at their own pace. An introduction to rappelling (descending on a rope) is often offered on the more vertical sections.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the canyon difficult for children?
No, the Comane is the "family" canyon par excellence. It is accessible from the age of 6. There's no steep approach (just 5 minutes) and the water is often less cold than in other Alpine canyons. It's the perfect place to drop in.Do I need to know how to swim perfectly?
You need to be able to swim and submerge your head underwater. However, the wetsuit offers great buoyancy, making swimming very easy and not very tiring. Can I wear my glasses or contacts?
Yes, if you're wearing goggles, be sure to bring a lanyard to fasten them (this is essential if you don't want to lose them on the slides). For contact lenses, the best thing to do is wear swimming goggles or close your eyes tightly when immersed.EMAIL: contact@revedecimes.com
