THE VERCORS' WILD VERTICAL ADVENTURE

Are you looking to get off the beaten track and enjoy an authentic Canyoning experience in Isère? The Canyon du Malin, located in the commune of Malleval-en-Vercors, is a hidden gem of the massif. Far from the crowds of classic canyons, this route offers total immersion in a pristine natural environment, often compared to a vertical jungle, with its lush vegetation of boxwoods and giant ferns.

Contrary to overcrowded beginner courses, Le Malin offers an intimate, technical atmosphere. It's the perfect choice for those wishing to discover the wild side of the Vercors. Although located less than an hour from Grenoble, you feel instantly transported to another world, where sculpted limestone and greenery dominate.

A Sporting Alternative to the Dazzling Canyons

If you've already tried some thrilling courses and are looking for more thrills without going to the extreme, the Canyon du Malin is your next step. This is no simple water hike: it's a real mountain trail. It requires a good level of fitness and is aimed at Intermediate / Sports enthusiasts. Here, the water is less present than in the big rivers, giving way to the technicality of the ropes and the beauty of the dry, vertical drop-offs.

Some of the best climbs in the world are in the mountains.

AN IDEAL OUTING FOR A FAMILY WITH TEENAGERS

Although technical, this canyon remains accessible to resourceful and athletic beginners. It's the perfect activity for a family with teenagers (aged 14 and over) in search of adventure. Sharing the descent of the final waterfall is an unforgettable experience. It's an opportunity to spend time together, safely supervised, in a grandiose setting that will leave unforgettable memories for your young adventurers.

Obstacles & Sensations

The Canyon du Malin is distinguished by its vertical profile. No uninterrupted succession of jumps, but a real rope trip.

The Abseils: The highlight is without doubt the 35 metres Grande Cascade (Big Waterfall). This compulsory abseil is free-hanging and offers an impressive sensation of emptiness while remaining secure. An initial abseil of 15 meters gets you up to speed before the grand finale.

Setting: You'll be flying through a deep gorge where végétation is king. The "Amazon" atmosphere of the Vercors is unique here, with magnificent plays of light à through the trees.

Toboggans and Jumps: Although the course isn't very watery in the early stages, a few small toboggans make for a pleasant descent. At the very end, a pretty jump (optional) into the basin is possible, a refreshing compensation after the vertical motions.

Important note: Abseils are mandatory. A certain amount of self-control or trust in the guide is required to traverse the 35m waterfall.
